Sharon Horst

Sharon Shelly Horst, aged 73, of Lititz, PA, peacefully passed away on August 19, 2023, at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA. She was born to the late Stanley and Zelma Shelly (Zander).

She held a deep affection for her church family at Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Lancaster.

Sharon possessed a profound admiration for the wonders of nature, finding enchantment in every sunset, butterfly, waterfall, and vibrant autumn tree that crossed her path. Among her favorites were the beach and the Middle Creek Wildlife Area. She had a special knack for taking scenic routes during drives, a trait that turned every outing into a delightful journey on the longest country roads.

Sharon is survived by her sons: Brian Horst of Gordonville, Pa, and Troy (Kelly) Horst of Lititz, Pa; her daughter, Lisa (Ken) Hicks of Holtwood, Pa; her brother, Terry Shelly of Waldeck, Pa; her sister, Kay (Mike) Gainer of Lititz, Pa; as well as grandchildren and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at Long Memorial United Methodist Church, located at 2660 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601, on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11 am. Visitation with family will be from 10am until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Long Memorial United Methodist Church.

  • Our sincere condolences! Sharon was our daughter’s van driver for a few years driving her to and from the Lighthouse in New Holland. She quickly became a family friend and worshipped with us a few Sundays at Brunnerville United Methodist Church.
