Born in Lancaster, PA to the late Anna Mary Dangro
Robert served in the US Army and Army National Guard from the years 1972 – 1985. He was employed by Harrisburg Dairies. He was a life time member of the local VFW. An outdoorsman, Robert loved fishing, baseball, and was known as “The Weather Man”
Preceded in death by his Sisters, Sherry L Metzger, and Lorrie A Leakway, and granddaughter Alexis M Ortman.
Survived by his children, Heather J Yellets, wife of Rodney Yellets of Lancaster, and Robert E Ortman Jr. of Elizabethtown. Sisters, Kathleen P Trout, wife of the late Merle Trout of North Carolina, Judith A Haines, wife of George Haines of Lancaster, and Joellene A Hoh, wife of Glen Hoh of Elizabethtown.
He was laid to rest at Lancaster Catholic Cemetery, 170 Charles Rd, Lancaster, PA., with a gathering of family at a graveside service on Monday November 26th 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society.
