Onur Ali Akincilar

Onur Ali Akincilar, 80, from Lancaster, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 23rd at The Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center in Mount Joy. 

Ali was born in Ankara, Turkey, and immigrated to the United States in 1962 to attend the University of Arkansas where he earned a degree in architecture. He moved to Lancaster in 1975 with his wife Patricia, who passed in 1999. He spent the next four decades in the importing and exporting business. In retirement, Ali became an art collector and a fixture at the Lancaster and Lebanon auction houses. He is survived by his four children and 3 grandchildren: Elizabeth Akincilar; Leyla Akincilar and her son Emin Patton; Kaplan Akincilar and his son Seraphin Akincilar and daughter Davis Claire Akincilar; and Rita Akincilar. 

The family will have a private memorial. In place of flowers, please make a tribute gift to Hospice & Community Care in honor of Ali.

  • Ali was a dear man who my husband and I saw often at Renninger’s Flea Market. Because of him, we found delightful art treasures for our home. Every exchange with Ali was lovely. He will be sorely missed. Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss.
