  • Our hearts are sad as we learn of Lisa’s passing. Our daughter, Maggie, was Lisa’s first piano student here. They had a special relationship. They enjoyed spending time together, and we were privileged to have had dinners together. She attended our church every time Maggie played special music. She attended school music programs to cheer Maggie on. Lisa was a dear lady, a wonderful and patient piano teacher, and had a very kind heart. Our prayers go to Lisa’s husband, Bill, and the rest of her family.

  • We will greatly miss Lisa as a teacher, friend and fellow Nova Scotian. She was a wonderful teacher and always worked hard to adapt her teacher style to our children’s personalities. She was gracious and welcoming to all. We loved the glimpses of Nova Scotian heritage in her livingroom—Blomidon! Most of all we loved our conversations about God and His Word. She had a sincere desire to know Him better. May you know His presence forever, friend.

  • I was deeply saddened to hear of Lisa’s passing. She was a talented, beautiful, soul. The Heritage Chorale of Lancaster lost its most ardent supporter. She not only sang with us, but on occasion would accompany the chorale in performance. I personally feel this loss as she shared her love for the Chorale and for music in general with me many times. We will remember her in our next concert. My sincerest condolences.

  • Dear Cathy and Byron, I am so, so sorry for your loss. Lisa is a beautiful soul with such musical talent! Her smile, laughter, and spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved her… .

  • On behalf of the Lancaster Music Teachers Association, I would like to express our deepest condolences on the passing of our colleague, Lisa. For many years, our members enjoyed working with Lisa to provide positive music experiences for our students. Lisa was a kind and enthusiastic member of LMTA. She will be missed. We extend our deepest sympathies to Lisa’s family at this difficult time.

  • The members of the Heritage Chorale of Lancaster appreciated Lisa’s enthusiasm for singing and music. Even when she could no longer sing with us, she was a wonderful supporter and loved attending our concerts. She was a beautiful, talented soul that will be greatly missed.

  • As Lisa’s aunt I remember her as a happy child and at an early age it was evident she was a gifted pianist. Her passing has left tears and broken hearts. It’s comforting to know she had dear friends and a church family as part of her life. We’ll keep her in our thoughts and prayers.

  • It lifts my heavy heart to know that so many wonderful people touched my sister Lisa’s life and were fortunate to have experienced her beautiful spirit. My family is deeply saddened and devastated about her death. Her love of piano and her all encompassing joy of music will be so missed. I will always feel a deep void without my big sister and will hold on tight to my memories of us, laughter and our marathon length conversations. This loss seems so unreal. Thank you from the Richards Family for sharing your thoughts and feelings about Lisa. We feel so far away here in Canada to grieve her loss and celebrate her life with those in Lancaster.

    • Deepest sympathy, Cathy and family. Lisa was an active member of Lancaster Music Teachers Association for several years. We appreciated her joyful and giving spirit. She will be missed by her many students, colleagues and friends.

  • We already deeply miss Lisa at Hosanna! A Fellowship of Christians, where she was an integral part of our community and greatly loved. She served on our worship team and was present for every possible prayer meeting, Bible study, and gathering. There’s a sad outpouring of love for Lisa on our Hosanna! Facebook page, where we posted this sad news.

  • Dearest Lisa touched the hearts of many. Her gentle kind nature was a gift to those who knew her. I will carry memories of her warmth as the days ahead unfold.

  • I met Lisa at musical events. She was a person who immediately brightened the room with her happy laughter and interest in others. We will miss her deeply and thank God for her life.

  • Lisa, I want you to know that you were wanted, you were needed & you were loved and by so many. May Jesus wrap his arms around you as he welcomes you home. We will all keep you & your husband Bill in our thoughts and prayer always! <3

  • My heart hurts over the passing of Lisa. After many years away from piano lessons, I found Lisa. We connected immediately. Those 30 minutes each week were shared with music, peace, and laughter. Lisa was such a kind soul. When I would learn a new song, I would have Lisa play it and I videod her with my phone. These are now treasures. Her graceful playing often brought me to tears. Now I’m crying tears that she is no longer with us. Peace & comfort to her husband Bill, and all of us her mourn our teacher.

    • Mary Lou, you’ve touched me with your thoughts and feelings about my sister Lisa. I hope it is okay to ask if you could share your treasures with me. I’ve been trying to find videos/audios of Lisa playing the piano as a keepsake to remember her and her music, and to play for my young son so he can see Auntie Lisa do what she loved. If you are able to share any videos you can send them to my email address: cmrichards_99@yahoo.com
