James Michael “Mike” Preston, age 74, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023 due to medical complications.
Mike, born September 13, 1948, was the son of the late William Preston and Dorothy (Aston) Preston, of Columbia PA.
Mike was born and raised Catholic in Columbia, PA and had a lifetime career as a truck driver. Mike was a quiet soul who loved watching old western movies and listening the the “Oldies but Goodies” radio station. Mike loved Nascar and college football. Mike’s favorite team was Penn State.
Mike was proceed by death by his brothers Steve Preston, Denis Preston, and William Preston, all of Columbia, PA and his sisters, Jean Gibble, of Georgia and Judy Sadler, of Wrightsville, PA
Mike is survived by his daughter Christine Hostler, of York, PA, his son Denis Sousa, of Florida, longtime companion Mary Haldeman, of Columbia ,PA ,step daughter Angela Patterson, of Lancaster, PA and brother Thomas Preston, of Columbia, PA.
Mike will be deeply missed by his family and especially his daughter Christine and grandson Ethan.
Dad- I didn’t know the last time we spoke was the last time. I’m sorry I wasn’t there. Ethan misses his “Pap” so much. I wish you could have seen him grow up. We love you!
