Alma Jean Mathiot Reisinger, 89, of Columbia, PA passed into the arms of our Lord on January 6, 2016. Alma was the daughter of the late Helen E. Weitzel and William D. Mathiot. Alma is survived by her nine loving children. Franklin J. Reisinger Jr., Kathleen Moss, John V. Reisinger, William B. Reisinger, LuAnn Contrestan, Jeanine K. Widener, Karl E. Reisinger, Jolynn Rosado, wife of John Rosado Jr., Patrick B. Reisinger, husband of Joann Reisinger.
In addition to her children, she is survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Lee P. Mathiot, husband of Shirley. Alma was predeceased by 7 siblings: Gertrude “Flick” Rothfus, Arlene “Butch” Morrow, Merle “Snook” Lutz, Evelyn Sue “Grace” Wintermyer, William “Ike” Mathiot, Carl “Pinch” Mathiot and Henry “Hen” Mathiot.
Alma graduated from Columbia High in 1944. Alma worked for various companies, retiring from Wyeth Labs. Her entire life was devoted to her family and friends. She always had a sparkle in her eyes and a story to tell. The strength that she gave us will carry on.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 11, 2016, at 11:00 am at Columbia Church of God, 43 North 7th St., Columbia, PA. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Alma’s memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
So sorry. This woman was and still is loved by so many people. I know she’s with her already passed family. I still wave to her at her house when I drive by. Love to all.
