Paul E. Buckwalter


Paul E. Buckwalter, 90, living at Welsh Mountain Home, New Holland, died Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster. He was a former resident of Evansburg, Montgomery Co., Schwenksville, Montgomery Co., Bechtelsville, Berks Co., and Lititz, Lancaster Co.

Mr. Buckwalter was born on November 25, 1932, in Norristown, Montgomery County., to the late David T. and Lillian G. (Bean) Buckwalter. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Buckwalter was a member of Lancaster Alliance Church. He was a former member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Boyertown, and Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Trappe. He was also a former Chaplain at the Graterford State Penitentiary.

Mr. Buckwalter is survived by his children, Gerald E., husband of Jean E. (Balzer) Buckwalter, Lancaster, Anne M., wife of the late Frederick W. White, Bechtelsville, Kenneth P., husband of Veronica K. (Cyrus) Buckwalter, Hurricane, WV, and Donald J. and Steven S. Buckwalter, both living at Welsh Mountain; and five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, E. Jane (Kratz) Buckwalter, his infant daughter, Deborah Buckwalter, and his brother, W. Robert Buckwalter.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Lancaster Alliance Church, 210 Pitney Rd., Lancaster, with Pastor Joseph Burchill officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Welsh Mountain Home, 567 Springville Rd., New Holland, PA 17557.
