Steven “Sam” A. Mylonas

Steven “Sam” A. Mylonas, 58, of Lancaster, PA, found eternal peace at his Mount Joy residence, Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 4:41am, following a valiant battle with cancer.

In passing, Steve was reunited with his devoted wife, Linda “Lemonia” Mylonas, loving guardians Aunt Thelma and Forrest “Uncle Dutch” McMinn, and parents, Doris Lefever McLaughlin and Steve Mylonas.

Steve is survived by his three children, Christina Mylonas of Honolulu, HI, Stephen Mylonas of Lancaster, PA, and Angela Mohamed of Los Angeles, CA; a grandson, Yasin Mohamed; three sisters, Katherine Axe, wife of Steve Axe, Georgetown, DE, Romina Gaspari, and Dori Lefever Pinkerton, East Haven, CT; and two brothers, Reinzo Gaspari and Romolo Gaspari.

At a young age, while attending J.P. McCaskey High School, Steve enjoyed playing the trombone and being a member of the marching band. His musical talents also included those of the piano, organ, guitar, trumpet, and drums. Although Steve had many hobbies, he found his greatest enjoyment in strategy, music, electronics, and watching NCIS. He took pride in all of his work and had a great love for animals.

Steve graduated Penn State University with a degree in Engineering. His talents and careers consisted of many, but the friendships during his work at the East Shore YMCA, remained very dear to him. Steve spent 2014 in Hawaii, building new friendships and enjoying the outdoors.

Steve, known as “Sam” to his family and friends, was a loved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and confidant, whose talent, wittiness, and determination will always be remembered.

A small memorial gathering (open to the public) will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 1-3 PM at 116 Lancaster Estates, Mount Joy, PA 17552. (Interment will be a private service).
