  • Sam came back into our family this year when he moved to Lititz. We were so excited and tried to share our family life with Sam, helping him as he progressed forward with his own life. He was a great worker at Target in Lititz. Here is a quote from Target “He was an amazing worker and always friendly to everyone.” He met his 100 year old Nanny Dot for the first time since he was 12 and visited her often. He attended St. Luke’s UCC in Lititz. His great-aunt Judi was a mainstay for him in so many ways. His many cousins living in Lititz area were also supportive of Sammy’s efforts. We miss him so much and can’t believe he is gone from our earthly lives. There is no doubt in my mind that he is with his father and grandfather in Heaven. Sammy had a good soul and it showed in so many ways. To all his friends: Learn from Sammy: his wonderful spirit. Love to all of you. Sammy’s great-aunt Janie Markert

  • Sam, I can’t believe you are really gone. You were an amazing person, a great brother, a loving son, and the best friend many of us could ask for. I will never forget days were you wouldn’t get your chores done in time, and your wanted to make sure they were done before your mom got home, so we would rush around like crazy to get things finished fast. In church this past Sunday, a new memory came back. Your mom, you, Rylee, and I were there, the power went out and a baby Rylee clearly said “God”. That’s where many of us we hold you, in our memories and in our hearts. We will never forget you, I pray that you are free, and resting easy.
