On the morning of August 11, 2016, Patricia Y. Hunt McCardle of Mount Joy, PA, peacefully entered into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior.
Patricia was married 50 years to Robert N. McCardle. She was born in Lewistown, PA on August 10, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Roy C. Hunt and Helen A. Davis Hunt Peachey.
Patricia graduated from Kishacoquillas High School in 1965. She started her career working at the Lewistown Hospital as a nurses aide and continued in that profession working at St. Joseph Hospital when she got married and moved to Lancaster.
She was an avid gardener and had many unusual flowers and plants that local florists would purchase to use for their floral arrangements. Patricia enjoyed going to Roots Markets on Tuesday and vacationing in Canada. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.
Surviving besides her husband is a daughter, Christine Y. wife of Denny Kreiger; two grandchildren, Larissa and Coltin; three sisters, Linda wife of Bill Ruble of Milroy, Dee wife of Larry Lucas of Burnham, and Joyce wife of Leanie Hunt of Harrisburg; a brother, Roy E. Hunt of Altoona and numerous nieces and nephews. She thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent with her daughter and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
I am so sorry to hear about Pat. I met her while working for our son at Advanced Chiropractor and she quickly became one of my favorite patients. She gave me so many plants and cuttings from her garden and they are now thriving in our garden – her memory lives on. She had a heart of gold and will be missed
So sorry for your loss. I worked with Pat and liked her very much. She was a very kind and nice person. Again my condolences and prayers are with the family.
