Suzanne Metz Crowley, age 82, passed away April 20 th , 2020 at Willow Valley Communities following a three year battle with metastatic breast cancer, in Lancaster, Pa. Sue was born in Blue Island, Illinois, January 26, 1938, to Carl Jacob Metz and Geneva Geiger Metz.
Sue graduated from Morgan Park H.S. (1956) and Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan (1960). She spent many years substitute teaching and pre- school teaching. Most of her time was devoted to raising four sons and being involved in their many activities. Her strong Christian faith was evident in all aspects of her life. Sue enjoyed being a den mother in Cub Scouts, teaching Sunday school and holding various positions in churches in the five states where they lived. Since moving to Lancaster she has been a member of Grace Church at Willow Valley.
Sue enjoyed traveling, bridge, and golf and her many church activities. She is survived by her husband Art, of almost 60 years. Also, she is survived by her four sons, Mark (Nanci), Kurt, Daniel (Lisa), and Jack (Tanya) and eleven grandchildren and two great grandsons. Her eleven grandchildren are Tom (Candace), Megan (Scott), Lauren, Noah, Owen, Charlie, Mary, Carissa, Jenna, Sarah and Rebecca and two great grandsons Ellis and Ayden.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Betty. Her brother Bill (Pat) resides in Florida and Indiana. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Water Street Mission. ( www.wsm.org )
