Rodney Dale Bieber, of Saxton, formerly of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was received in the arms of his loving Lord and Savior on December 14, 2015. Born in Ephrata he was the son of the late Robert and Thelma Trupe Bieber. Rodney was the husband of Marianne Burkholder with whom he celebrated seven years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to his wife are five children: Elisa, wife of Michael Battle, Lancaster; Eric Bieber, husband of Bridget Gillespie, Willow Street; Greta, wife of Kevin Shelly, Lancaster; Stephanie, wife of Thomas C. Millhouse, Lancaster; P. Matthew, husband of Nhung Nguyen, Thailand; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Robert J., wife of Terry Gayon, Prince Frederick, Maryland; Kurt, husband of Lisa Johnson, Lititz. He was preceded in death by one great-grandson.
His life was dedicated to the service of his Lord through Operation CareLift, n/k/a Global Aid Network (GAiN); Campus Crusade for Christ; and Josh McDowell ministries.
Having formerly been involved in printing much of his life he was the owner of Forry & Hacker, Inc.
Some of his past hobbies included creating things, flying airplanes, building numerous cars, motorcycles, and boats. He had enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles. But now most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with family.
Rodney was a member of Safe Harbor House of Healing in Saxton. Formerly he was a member of Living Hope Community Church, 2823 Columbia Avenue, Lancaster, where a celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 19, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to GAiN, 1506 Quarry Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552 to help continue the vision for this facility, which he was instrumental in establishing, doing God’s work around the world.
