Robert William Butterworth, Jr (Bob), 79 of Red Lion, passed peacefully on May 5, 2021 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Philadelphia, PA on May 11, 1941, he was the oldest child of the late Robert William Butterworth, Sr. and Virginia (Daugherty) Butterworth.
Bob served in the US Army for 3 years, including service in Vietnam. He worked as a machinist for over 30 years at AF Landis Co in Philadelphia, PA After retirement, he enjoyed being a “snowbird” with his late wife, Sally, of 46 years, as they split time between their homes in Florida and PA.
Bob loved his family and friends and lived by the golden rule – treating everyone as he would like to be treated. He enjoyed playing billiards and cards, making friends everywhere he went. He will be missed terribly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his two daughters Heather (Keith) Samuelson and Heidi (Court) Hankel, his brother Donald (Melissa) Butterworth, and his four granddaughters Abigail, Rebecca, Evelyn, and Zoe.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sally Daniel Butterworth, his brother Richard Butterworth, and his sister Geraldine Butterworth.
