Rae L Griffith

Rae L. (McArthur) Griffith 74, beloved mother and grandmother of Lancaster passed away peacefully on December 3rd, at Brethren Village Retirement Community, with her son & daughter by her side. She was born on Sunday November 5th, 1950 in Norristown, Pa at Sacred Heart Hospital. 

Rae graduated from North Penn High School on June 10, 1968, and went on to pursue higher education at Millersville University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in special education on May 26, 1972. Rae devoted many years to being a loving homemaker, a dedicated mother, and a supportive friend to many. She continued her nurturing spirit by caring for her parents until their passing. Later in life, Rae turned her passion for sewing into a career, creating lasting memories with her friends and colleagues at DutchWare Gear. Rae had a deep love for the outdoors, and she found joy in hunting and fishing. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and the impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her. 

Rae is preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Ruth McArthur. She is survived by her sisters Lynn wife of Larry Alderfer of Green Lane, Pa; Gail wife of Wayne Stover of Howard, Pa; Children Jeremy Griffith Elizabethtown, Pa; Kelly wife of Matt Schavnis, Lancaster, Pa; Grandchildren, Emma, Brendan, Thomas & Andrew. 

Those who knew Rae know she hated being fussed over and would rather give than receive. In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Rae's character, please consider donating to a local animal shelter or spend time outdoors in remembrance of Rae.
