Phillip J. Garman, 62, of 87 Cassell Road, Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy, PA on Saturday, July 20, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on November 2, 1961 to the late Raymond Earl Garman and Kathryn Jean (Hummer) Garman. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Kim (Nell) Garman.
Phil worked for the family business, Garman Plumbing in Elizabethtown, from a very young age and once he became the owner/operator of the business, he continued to provide trustworthy service to many in the Elizabethtown and surrounding areas. Phil could light up a room just by walking into it, was the king of bad jokes, a friend to everyone and will be sadly missed by many.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping and spending time with his family and friends and at his cabin in Clearfield County. He looked forward to the family’s yearly beach trip where he enjoyed swimming in the ocean and teaching his children to fish, clam and operate his pontoon boat.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Courtney N. Garman of Elizabethtown, Allyson M. Mojica and husband and bonus son, Joshua A. Mojica of Elizabethtown, and Mason D. Garman and wife and bonus daughter, Mallory (McNaughton) of Bainbridge; three grandsons, Sebastian and Jayden of Elizabethtown, and Jaxon to be born in September of Bainbridge; siblings Jeff Garman, Jane Wess, Bonnie Knepper and husband Bruce, and Randy and companion Mary, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family.
Our heartfelt gratitude, appreciation and thank you to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at Hershey Medical Center and Hospice & Community Care for taking care of Phil throughout this journey and in his final days and hours.
