Norman A. Stiver passed away on May 7,2023 at his home in Lancaster, PA surrounded by his family.
He was born May 29, 1927 in Julian, PA to Norman R. and Mary “Blanche” (Williams) Stiver. He was one of fourteen children.
He married Margaret “Peggy” O’Neill Reese on June 11, 1971 in Philipsburg, PA and they shared almost 52 wonderful years together.
He is survived by Peggy and children: Susanne (Pat) Fox; Jim (Cindi) Stiver and Amy (Jim) Huber; grandchildren: Kyle (Sabrina) Bloom and James Norman Huber and great grandchildren: Natalie, Justin and Tinsley.
He is also survived by one Sister, Wanda Dillon of Erie, PA and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twelve siblings and first wife, Suzanne Goldthorp Stiver.
Norm served in the Army Air Corps during WW II and was stationed in Germany.
He was the Owner Operator of “Norman A Stiver Trucking” and ended his trucking career driving for Walmart Stores of Woodland, PA.
Norm was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Philipsburg. He was a founding member of Wolf Rock Camp and a proud member of Masonic Lodge of Osceola Mills No. 515 and the Shriners organization. He was also a proud member of the American Legion – Veterans of Foreign Wars, Philipsburg # 3450. At his time of passing, Norm was the oldest living member of the Philipsburg Fire Department.
Norm brought joy to all those lucky enough to know him and there will never be another like him.
A memorial Service will be held June 17 at 11:00 at the Bald Eagle Baptist Church where he grew up and attended as a child: 6622 S. Eagle Valley Road, Julian, PA and a luncheon will follow at the Elks Country Club in Philipsburg for family and friends of Norm.
