Nicholas “Nick” Dwight Stratton passed away at the age of 37, in the early morning hours of January 11, 2025, in Lancaster, PA. He was born to Harold Dwight Stratton II and Deborah Ritchie on December 25, 1987 in Newport News, VA.
Nick lived most of his life in Lancaster and attended Hempfield High School. Being born on Christmas Day is only one of many things about Nick that made him special. He possessed a loving, pure and kind heart. He had an exceptional sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. He was quick to lend an ear to listen, a hug to soothe, or even space in his home to anyone who needed a friend, no questions asked.
Nick loved music, computers and spending time with his friends and family. It was clear from an early age that he was very smart. At six years of age, he figured out how to take his bike apart and put it back together. He was technologically savvy with computers and cell phones, often called upon by his friends and family for help when they were at their wits end.
Nick is survived by his mother, Deborah Ritchie of Lancaster PA, sister Noelle Stratton of Lancaster, PA, sister Jennifer Waddell of Manteo, NC and numerous friends who loved him and will miss him greatly.
A celebration of life is being held on Sunday, January 26, 2025 in the Sanctuary room at West Art from 1:30PM-3:30PM. West Art is located at 816 Buchanan Avenue in Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Nick’s name to SMART Recovery. Donations are easily made on their website www.smartrecovery.org by clicking on “Donate” on the home page.
