Melvin Leroy Weaver, 57, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Mount Joy Hospice Center surrounded by family and friends following an extended and courageous battle with multiple cancers.
He was born in Lewistown, PA to Lowell Weaver and the late Rachel Brackbill Weaver. He was a 1975 graduate of Conestoga Valley High School.
He enjoyed a well-timed punch line, dining in good company, collecting treasures, and sharing his stories in a way that transported the listener.
He is survived by his father, Lowell Weaver, two brothers, three sisters, four nephews, and three nieces, all of whom will keep his stories alive.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at Faith EC Church, 2124 Old Philadelphia Pike Lancaster 17602, on Friday, January 16 beginning with visitation at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Mount Joy Hospice Center.
