Marvin L Rote

November 26, 1958 — January 8, 2025

Marvin Rote (Skinny), 66, of Rheems, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 8th. He is now in the arms of Jesus!

Marvin was the devoted husband of 42 years to Pamela Rote, a bond that was the foundation of a life filled with love, laughter, and memories. He was the proud and supportive father of Brett, Kara, and Heather, and the cherished "Pappy" to his four adoring grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

Marvin’s zest for life was contagious. He was an avid bowler, and softball player. A lifelong fan of Philly sports, he cheered passionately for his teams and never missed an opportunity to watch a game. Known for his vibrant personality, Marvin’s love for bright-colored clothing and unique shoes made him a memorable figure wherever he went. His adventurous spirit extended to his sweet tooth, as he was always eager to try new ice cream shops, the newest flavors of Oreos, Mountain Dew, and any candy or treat he could find.

Marvin’s greatest joy in life came from his family. He was an unwavering supporter of his children, attending every one of Brett’s sporting events and always being present for Heather and Kara whenever they needed him. Marvin’s kind nature was evident in his willingness to help anyone including his friends, neighbors, and family no matter the task or time of day.

Marvin is survived by his wife Pamela, a daughter Heather (husband Sophack), a son Brett (wife Lyndsey), and a daughter Kara (husband James), 4 grandchildren, and a brother Rodney Rote.

His warm heart, generous spirit, and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held on Saturday February 1st. The family will receive family and friends at 10 am with the service folowing at 11am at Hope Community Church, 1806 Harrisburg Avenue, Mount Joy, PA 17552. In honor of his colorful style, attendees are encouraged to wear bright clothing or Phillies apparel to reflect the joy and love Marvin brought to the world!

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to Hope Community Church, Mount Joy, PA in Marvin’s memory.

Marvin Rote lived a life full of love, kindness, and enthusiasm, and his legacy will remain in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
