Five days before his 89th birthday, Stan Hurst went Home to be with his Lord on Thanksgiving. He was born in Lancaster to Leman and Laura Hurst. Stan was preceded in death by brothers Tick and Russell and sister Mary Ellen Andrews. His sister Anne Mull lives in CA.
Stan was the husband of Ruth (Maxey) Hurst for 65 years. He is also survived by daughters Judy of Ephrata and Marty, wife of Steve Swan, Lancaster. Son Mark and wife Mary live in Australia. Son Dennis and wife Maureen live in Portugal. He also had 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Stan served in the Army during WWII. For most of his adult life he was self-employed in the wall and floor covering business and later in sports apparel retail.
Stan was a long-time member of Calvary Church. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 3 P.M at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster. Memorial donations may be given to Calvary Church’s missions fund.
