When Tolstoy wrote, ‘Everyone wants to change the world, but no one thinks of changing
himself’ he hadn’t yet had the honor of knowing Kevin Elias Wilson, Jr. or ‘Dewey’ as many
knew him.
Born in June of ’76, Kevin had only 47 years with us, but spent them well.
He was as a son, brother, father, uncle, Marine, friend, and most recently, a Christian Brother with Dry Bones Motorcycle Ministry.
In every chapter of his life, by each name he was known, Kevin embraced life and took every single experience it had to offer him – some good, some bad, a few questionable, but a lot of them funny…especially when he told the story.
Kevin made a living masterfully turning wrenches, sipping coffee, and building custom
motorcycles at Redemption Cycleworks; but he made a life – an unintentionally and
paradoxically beautiful one – that is understood best if you read the last chapter first.
Kevin’s most recent chapter found him making life-changing moves, giving his life to God,
joining DBS, and beginning to build bridges and make amends with those he’d lost connection. In his words, he’d ‘never been happier’ or ‘more at peace’.
Kevin taught us all a lot while he was here (but obituaries are expensive & some of what he taught us is probably illegal in a few states), so in sum: It can all be gone in an instant, love your people while they’re here.
Missing Kevin, now and always are, Sons, Trevor and Devon Wilson; Daughter, Erica Wilson (Tanner Duncan); Granddaughter, Paisley Grace. Father, Kevin E. Wilson, Sr. (Wanda Wilson). Siblings, Kyle Wilson; Dustin Wilson; Tiffanie Sheaffer (Glen ‘Champ’ Sheaffer II); Chianne Fitting (Don Fitting); Shawn Bowermaster (Summer LaFrance), and his extended family at DBS.
Kevin’s Mother, Debra K. Wilson (Keys) preceded him in passing.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church, 595 New Bloomfield Road, Duncannon, PA 17020 on Sunday, October 1, 2023 . Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. with services to follow.
