Kathleen Mallinson, 60, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 18. She was the loving wife of Roy Mallinson, who preceded her in death in 1998. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Dennis and Virginia Shelley and sister to David and Denise. She loved her family and friends who brought her such joy. The emotional rock in her family, she gave freely of herself out of her abundant love. Quality time with loved ones defined her most joyous times.
Kathy was a senior administrative assistant at Armstrong World Industries, where she worked for over 40 years. She also served as the bookkeeper at J. Peters Construction. A wiz at computers, she loved to share her knowledge with those who wanted to learn and others who simply needed her help.
Serving and attending services at LCBC Manheim were at the core of her spiritual growth. Kathy had a challenging life. Loss, pain, and difficulty were present throughout, and she clung to the Lord in times of difficulty. She was an inspiration to those who knew her, demonstrating resilience and determination to persevere in times of difficulty. With a kind and gentle spirit, she chose love.
Surviving are her son Daniel Mallinson, stepson Timothy Mallinson, grandson Peter, and brother David. In addition to her parents and husband, her sister Denise preceded Kathleen in death.
