Jeannette was a kind and caring mother, grandmother and friend, who truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, food, music, TV and her love of cats.
Jeannette departed this life peacefully, surrounded by family in her home on Thursday, August 8th 2024 (international cat day) at the age of 74. Born in Lancaster on May 4th 1950 to Francis Reed and Leona Walker, she was the wife of John W. Uhlrich Sr. with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
In the late 80’s she was so proud to have worked for Leoniak; where she learned to knit sweaters for high end department stores in New York City and beyond. She was passionate about knitting sweaters. She once knitted a sweater for Lee Iacocca’s grandchild AND a Pittsburgh Steelers newborn child.
She will be remembered as a devoted Wife, loving Mother and cherished Nanny.
Jeannette is preceded in death by her husband John, granddaughter Ashley, brother Dennis and her many beloved cats. Jeannette is survived by her sister Irene Oster and her children Charles Gebhard, Scotty Gebhard, John W. Uhlrich Jr. married to Melvyne, Nichole Thompson and Lechele McLasky, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. As well as her sister-in-law and dear friend Beverly “Dolly” Shock and her oldest friend of 59 ½ years Linda Schuler.
