George A. Vermeulen, Jr., 67, of Lancaster, passed away on 31 st , January, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the loving husband of Donna Skiles Vermeulen.
Born in Altoona, PA, he was the son of George A. Vermeulen, Sr. and Roberta Vermeulen.
He was a 1974 Graduate of Penn Cambria High School and a 1974 Graduate of Admiral Peary Vo-Tech School.
He faithfully attended LCBC Church (Manheim Campus).
George had retired in 2018 but he loved volunteering for “Pets with Santa Photo” Fundraisers with Lancaster County Pet Pantry. His favorite time of the year was Christmas and loved wearing the Santa Suit to spread joy for so many pet rescue and day care organizations.
He was an auto hobbyist and loved working in his garage and going to car shows. He loved talking, meeting new friends and reminiscing with old car buddies. Often at car shows you would always see him with a camera – He wanted to cherish every minute and loved photography. George and his wife Donna loved beach vacations at Ocean City, MD where
they were married on 11/11/11.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Skiles Vermeulen; his sons, Charlie Vermeulen, Michael Vermeulen and Jody Vermeulen; siblings, Valerie Vermeulen, Gary Vermeulen, Tina Fuller, Sue Stevens and Lisa Mack; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
