Franklin M. Cattell Jr of New Holland, PA died on September 10 th at Lancaster General Hospital after sustaining injuries due to a fall. He was 85 years old. Frank was the son of Franklin M. Cattell Sr. and Mary C. Cattell of West Chester, PA. He graduated from West Chester High School in 1951 and then joined the military. He became a pilot in the US Air Force and traveled all over the world. After leaving the military he worked for General Electric in Philadelphia, PA while at the same time earning an engineering degree from Drexel Institute of Technology (now Drexel University). After graduating from Drexel in 1965 he worked as an electrical engineer for Raytheon in Boston, MA for 29 years. In the early 2000’s he retired to New Holland and enjoyed spending time pursuing his interests and visiting extended family. Frank’s interests and hobbies include playing chess, reading (history & science), airplanes, classical music, and following his favorite sports teams, the Red Sox and New England Patriots. Frank is survived a brother, Lindley N. Cattell and sister-in-law Catherine S. Cattell of Honey Brook PA and a sister-in-law Eva May N. Cattell of Egg Harbor City, NJ. He is predeceased by a brother, Charles F. Cattell formerly of Egg Harbor City, NJ. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
