David Boots

David Wilson Boots transitioned peacefully February 6, 2025 with his daughter Phaedra Boots holding his hands, as Sarah Vaughan, one of his favorite female vocalists serenaded him. 

David was a proud native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School and received a masters degree from Lincoln University before relocating to California in the late 1970’s, and returned home to live in the beautiful historic city of Lancaster in 2021. 

He was preceded in death by his loving adoptive parents John and Elsie Boots, his biological mother Dorothy Wilson Ellis and stepfather James Ellis Sr., brothers Jerome Ellis and Albert Ellis Sr., uncle Richard Wilson Sr., aunt Betty Wilson, and cousin Albert H. Wilson. 

David is survived by his daughter Phaedra Boots, brothers Larry Ellis and James Ellis Jr., sister Barbara Wilson, cousins Richard Wilson Jr., Elizabeth Wilson, Myra Jacobs and Jeffery Jacobs. 

David was a devout Buddhist who practiced for over 50 years.
