Daniel “Dan” Lee Stauffer, 50, of Leola, passed away at home on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Born in Lancaster County, PA, on April 16, 1974, he was the son of the late David Leroy Stauffer, Sr, and Geraldine Smith.
Dan worked for RR Donnelly for over 15 years years before his health issues required him to leave the company. Both inside and outside of the workforce, though, Dan’s keen mind latched onto various interests and hobbies throughout the years and led him to some creative ventures of his own. From his days as a pool shark to his stint developing the perfect poker face, Dan was always getting into something new and exciting. He collected baseball cards, coffee mugs, dicast cars, and cologne. He was an herbal tea connoisseur. He loved wrestling, and his alternate personality – THE DUDE – was a world champion whom everyone adored. Dan’s final creative venture, his YouTube Channel, “Coffee, Cars, and More with Dan and Sam,” leaves family, friends, and fans with a timeless video legacy of his charm and wit.
In addition to these various interests and hobbies, Dan was also a serious and talented musician. He was a member of several bands, from the early days of Asparagus Poop to Tamble to Snapsquatch. Anyone who knew Dan knew his voice. Whether on stage, into a karaoke mic, or on his couch and in the car, anytime was the perfect time to hear Dan sing, and his voice, along with the talent behind it, is one that will be truly missed.
He is survived by his spouse, Kelly Stauffer, and his daughters, Hailey Ellis, wife of Devon Ellis, of Felton, Karah Stauffer, of Leola, and Melody Stauffer, of York; a grandchild, Ember Ellis; his siblings, Debbie Smith, Denise Pittman, Donna Hershey, David Stauffer, Jr., Lesley McCollough, and Megan McCollough; and lifelong friends Joshua McKillips (partner of Dan’s niece and father of Dan’s great-nephew and great-niece) and Allen Rudolph. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 13, 2024, at his
childhood home, 2926 Lincoln Highway East, Gordonville, PA 17529.
