Barbara “Barb” “Mom” “Gee” Louise Taylor passed away January 15, 2025, at the age of 76. She was a resident of Lancaster since 2003 where she resided with her beloved wife Sharon Taylor and cat daughter Maya. Barbara was born November 6, 1948 in Belfonte, PA, the daughter of Bob and Dolly Stitt. She graduated from Central Dauphin High School in 1966 and the Maryland Medical Secretarial School in Hagerstown MD in 1968. Barbara celebrated her 76 birthday this past November.
Barbara was incredibly funny, artistic and wonderfully unique. Barbara loved children and proudly worked for the Intermediate Unit for 45 years. She loved with her whole heart. She was a teacher of love especially to her 3 greatest loves Sharon, Frank, Sadie. Barbara loved being a mother and grandmother, “Gee”. Her unwavering love and inner child made her the most magical Mom and Gee.
She loved to dance. She loved her Lancaster city band, Beatles, Janice Joplin, Melissa Etheridge, Brandi Carlile, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, PINK, and Queen to name a few. She was always first on the dance floor and last to leave. She loved the Ocean and enjoyed spending time with Sharon at Chincoteague and Assateague Island.
She went to Woodstock 1969. She marched for Civil Rights. She did sit ins and sit outs. She was the real deal. She had an inner conviction to fight for civil rights in the 60's and 70's and LGBTQ+ and women's rights in recent years. Barbara always said her strong political footing was because she was born in an election year.
Barbara is survived by her wife and soul mate Sharon F. Taylor, Her daughter Sarah “Sadie” Brown (Jeremy Brown) cherished Grandchildren Franklyn “Frankie” and Jack Brown. Her sister, her “Little Doll Baby” and best friend Marge Ebersole (Jeff Ebersole) many many adored nieces and nephews and all of their children. Cat Daughter Maya Taylor “Baby Cat”. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank P Simione, her beloved sister and best friend Cathy “Cak” Cisneros, her brother Robert “Bob” Stitt Jr., and her parents Vivian “Dolly” and Robert Stitt.
