Arlie D. Reeves, 84, of Mount Joy, PA passed away Friday morning, September 29 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Arlie was born October 8, 1932 in Akron, Ohio to the late Arlie L. and Margaret Cummings Reeves.  He was a 1950 graduate of Kenmore High School.  Arlie served two years in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He retired from the Mohawk Rubber Company with 35 years’ service where he served in various positions prior to moving to Lancaster, PA in 1968. There he served as Plant Manager of Mohawk’s new tread rubber plant. He also served as National Director of Tread Rubber Production. In 1983 he was appointed Manager and subsequently Vice-President of Manufacturing at Mohawk’s Beebe Rubber Company, Nashua, NH.  His employment also took him to Auburn, Maine and  Stockton, CA.  Upon retirement he returned to Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1988 and began working for Klines’ Services.

He married his high school sweetheart, Janet (Kunsman), at Hope United Methodist Church in Akron, OH in 1953. Always a pair and never apart, he and his beloved wife recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.

His family was his life and greatest love. He was a very proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. Nothing made him happier than being with his family.

Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Lori (Kenneth) Duke Sr., East Petersburg, Sharon, (David) Kline of Wrightsville and Robin (John) Kline of Mount Joy. Grandchildren Kenneth Jr.(Jenna), Sean, Megan, Kyle (Rachel), Brandon, Keaton and Austin. Great grandchildren, Tyler, Ella, Rogan, Mia, Maxwell, Madilyn, Reagan, Olivia and Rowynn and many nieces and nephews. Arlie was preceded in death by brother Robert (Dolores) Reeves and sister Janice (Donald) Turanchick.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Landisville, PA and former very active member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lebanon, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 5 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 85 E. Brandt Boulevard, Landisville with Pastor Janice Marie Lowden officiating. Family and friends may visit with the family at 11AM.  A memorial service will begin at 12PM.  Interment will be at the National Veterans Cemetery Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arlie’s name to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603 or a charity of your choice.
