Alice Jean (nee Robertson) Formerly of Plymouth Meeting and Fort Washington, PA, on March 19, 2018, Alice Jean May peacefully passed away at age 83. Beloved wife of 64 years of Herbert G. May, Jr.; devoted mother of Leslie Tahsler (Bruce), Joyce Shiffler (Michael), Herbert G. May, III (Teddi), and Beatrice Lemanowicz (Richard); loving sister of Betsy Wilson, the late Doris Kaufman, the late Joan Nickerson, and the late Malcom G. Robertson; also survived by 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and predeceased by a grandson. Born in Philadelphia to the late Malcom and Beatrice (Harner) Robertson, Alice graduated from Springfield High School in Montgomery County, PA. She married Herb and began a beautiful family to whom she devoted all her love and care. Celebrating every accomplishment and lending the most thoughtful advice to each of her four children was her passion. In 1981, Alice embarked on a successful venture and began her second career selling fine antiques in her shop called Cold Point, PA Antiques in Plymouth Meeting. Housed in a home built in 1819 on the National Register of Historic Places, Alice’s shop provided fine 18th and 19th Century furnishings to customers for over 20 years. Her legacy continues with 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Alice was an avid traveler with her husband, taking trips across the United States, to Europe, the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and a 3-month cruise around the world. Her treasures from her lifetime journey will always carry Alice in the hearts of all who knew her. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Alice’s life on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 321 W. Chestnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17603, at 10 A.M.
