Michael Lee Rineer Sr, 71, of Willow Street, Pa passed away on Sunday March 31, 2024 surrounded by his most precious gift, his family.

He was born in Lancaster Pa in 1952 to Bruce and Virginia Deppen Rineer. Michael loved to share stories of his childhood with his children and the trouble that he “may” have caused. He would often remember his mother’s love for shoes and purses. He attended Lancaster Catholic schools and proudly earned his GED at age 34. Michael was drafted in 1972, serving in the United States Army, as a cook until 1974. He was stationed in Germany.

Returning home to Lancaster Pa greeted in the street by his son, “my Daddy is home.” Then joining his lifelong work family at High Steel Structures for 40.5 years of employment.

Michael met the love of his life, Carole Mae Baisch Rineer, at a young age in Lancaster and he was her Michael forever more. With lots of history, they were excited to start their new lives together; the two were married in 1971. They were blessed with 33 years of marriage until her death in 2004.

Michael and Carole could not wait to start a family of their own, and their children meant the world to them. Michael Rineer, Jr married to Kimberly and Tracy Vazquez, married to Orlando. Michael instilled values of faith, family, and hard work into his children.

Though, he loved his children, and hunting, Michael’s favorite role was that as a grandparent. He treasured his time with his grandkids and loved being their Pap, never failing to take a trip to the family cabin, or tell a funny campfire story, or have everyone take a shot with toast by Pap. Jennifer (Hector), Ashley (Anthony), Kevin, Maylin (Devon), Ryann (James), Orlando Jr, and Spencer shared their Pap with every friend that ever had the pleasure to meet him. He was such an amazing grandparent that he was promoted to great grandfather. Connor, Aziel, Kameron, Anijaliz, Aiyana, James, Ireland, Willow, and
Jennaley added so much joy to his life. He was so excited to meet the newest addition in late July of Michael would often say, “the greatest gift I have been given is my family”.

Michael was an active member of the New Apostolic Church serving as a Deacon and devoting time to making phone calls, visiting members, and mowing the church lawn. He stood at the door to greet and welcome everyone with firm handshake, smile and a repeated joke.

Surviving are three sisters Brucetta, Ann, and Virginia, one brother Larry. A brother Bruce preceded him in death. He is also survived my many nieces and nephews that will fondly remember Uncle Gizmo.

Please join the celebration of Michael’s life Saturday April 13, 2024 at 10am for visitation with family until the start of the memorial service at noon at the New Apostolic Church 2425 Spring Valley Lancaster Pennsylvania.
