Betsy Ross Jones, formerly of Waverly, PA, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Lancaster. Betsy, known officially as Mary Elizabeth, was born in Scranton January 8, 1921, the daughter of Maude Lily (Devereaux) Ross and James Crowe Ross. She graduated from Central High School and completed business school before securing employment at Schreiber’s in Scranton. She married Harold Robert Jones on April 15th, 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1985.

She is survived by six children: Barbara Fortney (John Bright), Lancaster, Priscilla Meyette, Lancaster, Pamela Faust (Ronald), Spring City, Jeffrey Jones (Joiann Galiano), Columbia, Rebecca Crawford (Jerry), Dallas, TX and Matthew Jones (Maria), Lancaster. Her legacy of love includes twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
