Lawrence Alexander Dimeler III, 74, of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Frey Village Nursing Home in Middletown.

He was born in Royalton, PA to Lawrence Alexander Dimeler, Jr and Lucille Louise Dimeler who both preceded him in death.

He graduated from Lower Dauphin High School in 1964.

His favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, and playing card, board, and video games with family young and old.  He loved the near weekly family card game that had activities for all ages whether you played the game or not.  His other past times were sitting on the swing, visiting with friends at Brownstone Cafe, and reading his New York papers which he bought every day to follow his beloved New York Yankees.  He also played in Middletown’s softball leagues for years after high school that was worth a lifetime of stories of his own and his teammates’ exploits on their own Field of Dreams.  He was a survivor of 3 open heart surgeries, spent nearly a lifetime with severe hearing loss, and fought off Parkinson’s Disease in his later years until the end.

He was the father of Lawrence Alexander Dimeler IV, of Middletown and Laura Ann Nemo of Palmyra, NJ.  He is also survived by a sister, Brenda Luttrell of Elizabethtown, and a brother, Ralph Dimeler of Middletown, an ex-wife, Anna Dimeler of Middletown and his four grandchildren, John Nemo, Kevin Nemo, Joshua Nemo and Benjamin Nemo.  He will be greatly missed also by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends!

Relatives and friends will respectfully be invited to attend a Memorial Service at a later date due to the accommodation of family at this time.

In lieu of flowers and love gifts, contributions may be sent in his name to New Durham Baptist Church located at 4616 Tonnelle Avenue, North Bergen, NJ 08065, where his Son-In-Law, Pastor John Nemo, is currently Pastoring.  All donations will be used to pay for Medical and Memorial Services.

  • Bud and his parents were wonderful neighbors. They would often invite us over to swing on the double swing in the back yard. They would share so many stories from the past. And you could guarantee if the weather was good, Bud was on the front porch swinging. Every Halloween night they would have a special goody bag for each of the kids.
My deepest condolences to the family ..

  • We miss driving by and waving to him on the porch swing every day. Thoughts and prayers to your family
