Joyce Ann Fussenegger

Joyce Ann Fussenegger, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care.  She was the loving wife of Harry E. Fussenegger.  They just celebrated 56 years of marriage on June 11, 2016.

Born June 15, 1938 in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Williams) Dearolf.

She graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School in 1956.

Over the years she was employed by Slaymaker Lock Co and Watt & Shand department store and spent many years as a nanny.

Joyce enjoyed life to the fullest and enjoyed her time with her family.  Some of her interests included cooking, canning/freezing, gardening, trips to the beach and bird watching – especially hummingbirds.

In addition to her husband Harry, she is survived by 4 daughters: Wendy Bender and husband, Tom, of Millersville; Heidi Merritt and husband, Jon, of York; Jill Fussenegger of Mountville; and Jodi Rambler and husband, Lee, of Lancaster; 3 granddaughters, Megan & Emily Merritt and Marissa Rambler; 2 sisters, Judy Resch and Nancy Burkhart; and a brother, Michael Dearolf.  She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at Willow Valley Chapel, 2400 Willow Street Pike, Lancaster PA 17602 on August 20, 2016 at 10:00 am with Blake Deibler officiating.

  • I am sorry for your Loss. She was my best friend and we know each other we both rode the red rose access bus together. I had good memories of her when we rode the bus together. sometimes we talk to each other once again sorry for your loss
