Joseph R. Spina

Joseph R. Spina, Sr, 87, of Lincoln University, PA passed away peacefully on February 7, 2018 at Country Meadows of Lancaster.

He was the devoted husband of 61 years to Doris Elaine (nee Ricci) and cherished father to Donna J. Spina of Leola, PA and Joseph (Jophus) R. Spina, Jr. of Honey Brook, PA.

Our beloved father was born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA on May 16, 1930 to the late Enzio and Regina Spina. His only sibling is the late Stella Paster (nee Spina). Our Dad was a graduate of Southern High School and served in the Marines during the Korean War. Before moving to Lincoln University, PA, he was a long-time resident in Swarthmore, PA.

He was a gifted automobile mechanic and passionate about his work. He loved the seashore, his tools, John Deere tractor, building and flying model airplanes, restoring and riding motorcycles, boats, and personal watercrafts. Most of all, he treasured time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, generosity, clever sense of humor, courage, grace, and humility.  There is a void in our lives that no one else can fill.

He is also survived by John Paster, brother-in-law, Alison J. Paster, niece, both of Lansdale, PA and numerous relatives in the large, multi-generational Ricci family.
