James Melvin Brown

James M. Brown, formerly of York, PA, entered his eternal heavenly home surrounded by family on June 17th.  James will be lovingly missed by his family and all who had known him throughout the years.  He was always able to bring a smile to your face with his gentle heart and positive outlook on life.  A former Marine and avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan, Pap also loved painting, drawing, woodworking and boating in his earlier years.  He and his wife Katharine enjoyed traveling.

James was employed by Trojan Boat then went on to trucking for 44 years.   Pap was a kind and generous loving man who loved his family.

James was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Comp Brown with whom he shared 24 years.  He shared 19 years with Katharine Conaway Brown until her death in 2009.  James also was preceded in death by three sons; William, Ronald and infant Jimmie.  Surviving are his children, son, Dennis Morris married to Sharon of Mifflinburg, daughter, Robin married to Steven Jacobs of Nottingham; Terry married to Steve Kerek of Lancaster, and Vicki married to Michael Barker of Willow Street.  Pap Brown had eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Caring Hospice Services of Lancaster County.
