Gladys Resto

Gladys Resto, 75 of Lancaster sadly passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.  Born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Rivera and Maria Castro.  She was the wife of the late Julio Resto with whom she married on February 13, 1965.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  She was a great cook and enjoyed making meals for her family and friends.  She loved telling stories and listening to her Spanish music.  She was an independent woman who was not afraid of challenges and did not allow life’s obstacles to knock her down.  She had no qualms about voicing her opinions.  She helped many people throughout her life despite her own setbacks.  Although she did not have an ideal life, our Mom always made sure we had hot meals, clean clothes, a clean home and took care of us when we were sick.  She made the best for us with what she had.  We will miss her stories, her rants, her laughter, her voice and most of all her smile.

Gladys will be missed by her children; Gladys & Leo, Dinorah & Beaton, Julio and Keith. Her grandchildren; Noora & Lenny, Cori, Isla (great grandchildren), Sabreen (Pineapple) & Armando, Steven, Kristina & Chris, Layla ( great granddaughter),Sami, Amanda & Richie, Aaliyah and Ariyah ( great grandchildren).

You will never be forgotten. You will be in our hearts forever.

  • Proverbs 31:28-29 – Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.

  • Grandma,

I’ll miss all the giggles and shades of red you made me turn when having conversations. I’ll always talk about your crab sauce and what an amazing cook you were. Make sure you have crispy bacon in heaven! I’m so glad Cori got to know you as her Gigi. I love you. Until we meet again, rest in paradise.

    Noora

  • Ma
