  • Joe, Neal and Betsy; So very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. When mom was at Willow Valley before her passing, we’d always try to have a few meals with Flossie. Even got to take her out to Kegel’s for dinner. Your mother was such an inspiration. Have fond memories of both your parents and Camp Shand. Sincerest condolences.

  • To the family of Florence (Flossie) Friend.
I just by chance checked Lancaster On Line Obituaries for the year, and I was saddened to see Florence’s lovely photo, and learn of her passing at age 98. I remember the wonderful times at Camp Shand! She was my mother’s great friend at WV, and the oldest living Shander. Love to you all.

  • Joe and family, I am sorry to read of the death of your mother. What a blessing for you to have her in your life for many years. She was certainly a gift for the Lancaster community with her contributions to many organizations. Please accept my condolences.

  • To Joe, Neal, and Betsy
I feel fortunate to have known the Friend Family. Florence and Kenny were such a joy to know and made many fond memories for me. I had worked with Florence at Dr. Paul Davidson’s office and had lovely blissful years of her friendship. She certainly loved her family and was a true friend and blessing to many. You will be missed so very much, Florence…

  • To her son, Joe, I extend my sincere sympathy. I went to McCaskey with Joe who was President of our class and extremely well-liked and respected.

  • Joe, Neil and Betsy: Joanne and I extend our sincere sympathy and friendship. Our recollection of your mom is that of a warm, wonderful, classy lady who meant so much to so many. The lives she touched are so much the better for having known her. Joanne and I will certainly miss visiting with her and the annual Davidson get together.
