Doris Moore

Doris Copple Moore, 92

Sept. 15, 1922 -June 16, 2015

Doris was born in Parkside, Pa. to Wallace and Mary Copple.   She married Captain Edward Joseph Moore, USMC Nov. 22, 1945 when Ed returned from the Pacific.  They were happily married for 12 years when Ed died suddenly leaving her with their four small children to raise.  Doris moved the family from Boston to Swarthmore, Pa. to be near her family.  She passed away peacefully June 16, 2015.  Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters Ruth Yeakel, Frances McDade and Ginny Hatton.  She is survived by her sister Nancy Pinkham and her children Steve, Phil, Nancy and Ken.  She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren; Arin, Philip, Cameron, Courtney, Alex, Eric and Shane.  She had two great grandchildren and a third on the way.  A service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church, Swarthmore Pa.

  • Hello Moore family, I am so sorry to learn of the passing of your Mom. What a strong person to go on and raise you guys, dogs and all after the death of your Dad. I know how much she meant to all of you. For some reason I was thinking a lot about you folks this week in fact I just learned a couple of minutes ago of your Mom’s passing while looking for Phil’s contact info, I wanted/to give you a call. Now I understand the reason I was drawn to you guys. Please take care and know I have your Mom I my thoughts. Peace, George
