David G. Stryker

David G. Stryker, 71 of Mount Joy, passed away on Sunday, August 16th, 2015, with his family by his side.  He was the loving husband of Brenda J. Stryker.  He was born in Huntingdon County, Pa. a son of Wallace M. Stryker and Esther Ada Rebecca (Lykens) Stryker.  Born August 8, 1944, David was one of ten children.

He will be lovingly missed by his wife Brenda J. (Dipperty) Stryker of 44 years, and his twin sons Clint married to Jody (Crider) Stryker of Washington Boro, and Shawn married to Laura (Benninger) Stryker of Columbia; three grandchildren Amber, Cody, and Mackenzie Stryker, and six of his siblings.  David proudly served in the US Military as a paratrooper of the 1st Airborn battle group for the 505th infantry and the 509th infantry attached to the 8th division during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Kennedy Assassination, and the Vietnam War era.

David retired from the former Grinnell Corp. of Columbia, where he was a setup/tool and die mechanic with 32 years of service.  David was an avid Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.  David was of the Baptist faith.

Relatives are invited to attend a military memorial service for David at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest on Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:30AM.  He will be joining his younger brother John G. Stryker.

In lieu of flowers, address donations to the Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster County, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike Mount Joy, PA 17552.
