Charles Dirks Groff

Charles Dirks Groff. 86, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, July 21 at Lancaster General Hospital.  He graduated from East Lampeter High School in 1951.  Chuck served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War with Platoon 102.  He was employed as a sales rep for Bear and Sheffer Distributors for over 50 years until his retirement.  Chuck loved nature, fishing, hunting and running his beloved beagles over the years.  He was the son of the late Edward W. Groff, Sr. and Emily Dirks Groff.  He was married to Patricia Jane Miley Groff for 60 years.  In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Jason Dirks Groff and granddaughter Gianna Noelle Groff, also by sister-in-law, Patricia Lou Groff, niece Lynne Loomis and nephew Edward W. Groff, III.  He was preceded in death by brother, Edward W. Groff, Jr.  A celebration of life will be held in Chucks honor at a later date.  Contributions in Chucks memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA  17603.
