Cecelia Singleton

Cecelia (Ceil, Mom, Grammy, Gram) M. Singleton (Hoffheinz), 74, passed away February 21, 2015.  She was married 56 years to David P. Singleton, Jr.  who passed away three weeks ago.   She was born in Lancaster PA, daughter to Harry and Anna (Treier) Hoffheinz.  She was preceded in death by her husband David, a daughter Corrine, brother Harry “Pete” Hoffheinz Jr., and sister Ann (Dee Dee) Yerger.

Ceil is survived by her children, Anita Kelly (Mike) of Denver, PA, Mitchell Singleton (Tina) of Lancaster, and David P. Singleton III (Jamie) of Lancaster.  She is also survived by sisters Betty Lou Mellinger (Kenny) and Shirley Frey (Herb), 6 grandchildren, Kayla Singleton, Evan Singleton, Alexis Kelly, Michael Kelly Jr, David Singleton IV and Nicholas Singleton; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ceil graduated in the top of her class at Lancaster Catholic High School and if you ever watched Jeopardy with her you knew just how smart she was … always knowing more than anybody in the room and the contestants. While she worked at various jobs over the years, they were simply a means to an end to help her family which was the only thing that mattered to her.  She was truly a kind and wonderful person, mother and grandmother who had the patience of Job and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

A private gathering will be held by the family.
