Christine Dulaney Merino

Christine Dulaney Merino, 60, of Lititz, PA, unexpectedly left us on November 13, 2022. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family after unforeseen complications from a brain tumor. Though her life was cut tragically short, the light that emanated from her every-waking moment will continue in those she loved and in those who loved her.

Born to Blake and Eve Dulaney on August 7, 1962, Christine grew up in Lancaster, PA and Raleigh, NC and majored in Organic Chemistry at Meredith College. She shared her compassion and generosity with others always and was a volunteer at the Big Sister Program and at a hospice center. She went on to focus on environmental test auditing before landing a job as a group leader in pharmaceutical raw materials at Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories.  On September 26, 2015, she married Darrell Merino. Shortly after in 2016, Christine and Darrell  moved to Ireland, where Christine volunteered with American Women's Club, Grand Canal clean-up initiative, and in a Dublin garden that shared produce with its community.  Christine lived a full life, enjoying gardening, educating herself on yoga, practicing holistic care and living, and taking care of every stray cat that crossed her path. She achieved many reiki  certifications and yoga teaching trainings in her lifetime.

She is survived by her loving family; her husband Darrell; her sisters Kathy Kyriakou (with her husband Mario) and Sheila Dulaney; her close nephews Jonathan and Christopher Hummer; four  stepchildren, Kristen, Paul (with his wife Stefanie), Lauren, and Julianne; two wonderful granddaughters, Charlotte and Riley.

Christin’s life of joy will be honored at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster on November 22 at 5:30pm, where she was both baptized and married. We invite all those who cherished her to join us in celebrating her memory during this time, followed by a simple reception. We plan to have a live stream available at the service. The link to the YouTube channel where the service stream will be hosted is provided below. The stream will go live about 5 minutes before the service begins. If you sign on earlier than that you may need to refresh the page for it to go live once the service commences.

If you knew Christine, you knew how large her heart was, especially when it came to animals. She lived with presence, intention, and affection, and we ask that you honor those virtues with a donation in her name to The Pet Pantry of Lancaster County (donation page provided below).   She will forever be remembered, loved, and missed.

  • I am so deeply sorry to hear the news of Christine’s passing. I knew her during her time in Dublin, where we both like to take the tours in the city offered by the American Women’s Club. I’ll always remember one particularly pleasant afternoon spent in Christine’s company after a tour in the ‘Garden of Remembrance’ Memorial Park near her apartment complex, with some fun shopping at an architectual salvage yard nearby. She was one of life’s special people who will be sorely missed but what a gift to have met her. My Sincere condolences to all her family and friends.

  • Christine was a co-worker of mine and every time she came into the office we would chat. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Her presence is definitely missed. My prayers are with your family.
